Ramp is a globally recognized financial operations platform trusted by over 50,000 industry-leading organizations, including Shopify, Notion, Eventbrite, and CBRE. Since its inception in 2019, Ramp has been ranked the Most Innovative Organization in North America by Fast Company, featured on CNBC's Disruptor 50 list and the Forbes Cloud 100, all while achieving unicorn status in less than two years.
Accelerating cross-functional GTM workflows while maintaining due diligence
Ramp made its name by moving fast and staying sharp. As the fintech unicorn grew to 50,000+ customers, the go-to-market team kept pushing for more speed without sacrificing precision. In fintech, staying ahead means rethinking how you work and finding smarter ways to win.
The GTM team wanted to find a tool that could help employees move even faster. Product Marketing was spending hours verifying every claim before publishing sales battlecards. That meant strategic positioning work kept getting pushed back.
Over in Sales, reps manually fact-checked AI-generated insights before using them in customer conversations. And marketers often had to jump between tools, manually exporting and reformatting data at every step.
The bottlenecks added up across the organization, turning wasted minutes into hours. Ramp's leaders sought an AI solution that’d deliver information that teams could verify quickly. That’s why Perplexity’s real-time, clickable citations stood out. What really won Ramp over? The fact that Perplexity could integrate seamlessly with their research platforms, analytics tools, and other key workflows. And that it could do so securely. “We had comfort knowing Perplexity Enterprise does zero training on data,” says Ben Levick, Head of AI and Operations. “And it had the enterprise controls that we're looking for to protect our data security.”
Verified insights for sharper positioning, seamless operations, and confident deal execution
Ramp adopted Perplexity Enterprise across their GTM organization in April 2025. The decision reflected the company’s philosophy: give smart people access to powerful tools and they'll find impactful ways to use them. Adoption was quick, says Sales VP Michael Manne, because Perplexity solved real problems as soon as people started using it.
“One of the major reasons that we love using it is that it fits really neatly into all of our day to day workflows,” says Michael Manne, Vice President of Sales. “It allows our customer team to save a ton of time and energy needed to do client and customer research.”
Product Marketing Manager Jacob Dahlbeck uses Perplexity Enterprise to evaluate vendors, do competitive research, and break down complex topics for sales enablement. When the team needs competitive positioning or compliance information, he uses Perplexity to get concise, source-backed answers. He’s then able to turn those verified insights into battlecards in seconds.
I'm able to kind of quickly map the landscape so I can instead spend more time on forming a clear point of view,” says Jacob. Jacob uses App Connectors to do that his content is also grounded in internal data, not just market data. “Being able to combine internal and external information has been really powerful.”
The battlecards he creates flow to sales team, who rely on Spaces to research prospects. With Spaces, reps can plug in prospect information and draft sales emails in the team's voice. The accuracy and speed in getting customer insights helps sales to be personalized and customer-first in every conversation.
Brand Marketing Lead David Ossipov-Grodsky transformed his paid search workflows with Comet, Perplexity’s AI browser. Comet lets him automatically plug potential keywords into search engine optimization tools like SEMrush and Ahrefs. With the data he gets back, he can stack rank the most promising keywords and push them directly into Google Ads.
Head of Mid-Market Sales Mike Weber describes Comet as his research assistant, quietly watching every deal, flagging risks, and spotting opportunities. Perplexity enabled him to gain strategic insights from large data sets with a simple query, saving him from having to do it manually.
When he needs to prepare for a key meeting between back-to-backs, he uses Perplexity to pull current filings, news, and key considerations in under a minute. “Perplexity has brought my level of preparation to a new level altogether,” he says, “while freeing me from all administrative overhead that I've been able to effectively redeploy to my team.”
Today, the GTM team is using Perplexity to streamline workflows across the organization. Comet has quickly become the de facto browser not just for leaders, but for the entire GTM organization. “I treat Comet as my personal research thought partner,” Jacob says. “When a sales manager comes to me with a question like, ‘how does this competitor handle payments?’ I can find the answer directly in my browser.”
With Perplexity, Ramp has been able to turn research velocity into a competitive advantage.
Empowering a world-class GTM team to drive productivity and save time
Ramp employees now use Perplexity Enterprise and Comet regularly, with sales, marketing, and customer experience all relying on the same source-backed research Perplexity delivers. “This definitely puts Perplexity Enterprise in the top tier of tools that we use,” Ben says.
The measurable results: teams reported a 47% average productivity increase, driven by fewer manual handoffs and the confidence to trust outputs without extensive validation. By eliminating manual steps across research, analysis, and campaign execution, the team recovered multiple hours weekly per user. Annie Austin, Strategic Enterprise Account Manager, says Perplexity has reduced the 10-12 hours it used to take her to prepare territory plans to minutes. “It’s presented to me in a very clear and concise way with all the sources cited,” Annie says.
Ramp employees have been able to spend the time saved on higher level tasks like strategy development, customer relationships, and revenue-generating activities. “I can spend less time researching and preparing to have a conversation with a client and more time actually talking to the client,” Annie says.
As Michael puts it, “Perplexity raises the quality of the work we bring to customers: better explanations, stronger recommendations, and answers we know we can stand behind.”
Tips for streamlining GTM workflows while maintaining high quality
Tip 1 – Put verification at the center. In fast-moving, regulated categories like fintech, give GTM teams real-time citations and easy source-tracing so they can trust AI outputs in battlecards, emails, and decks without slowing down for manual fact checks.
Tip 2 – Connect AI to your GTM stack. Integrate Perplexity and Comet with your existing research platforms, CRM, and analytics tools so reps, marketers, and operators can move from insight to execution in a single workflow instead of jumping between tabs.
Tip 3 – Elevate work from prep to strategy. Encourage teams to go beyond “summarize this” and use Perplexity as a thought partner for territory planning, deal strategy, positioning, and messaging so hours saved on research turn into higher-impact conversations and revenue-generating work.
