How does Perplexity determine which model to use for a particular question?
Perplexity offers several AI models that users can choose from. By default, Perplexity uses its optimized model for speed and web browsing. Pro users can select from advanced models including GPT-4 Omni, Claude 3.5 Sonnet, Sonar Large, Grok-2, and Gemini 2.0 Flash as baseline models. For Pro Search, users can choose reasoning models like OpenAI's O3-mini or DeepSeek's r1 for complex reasoning tasks.
How does Perplexity minimize hallucinations and inaccurate answers?
Perplexity combats hallucinations through its answer engine approach, which conducts real-time web searches to fetch up-to-date information. The system cross-references model output with contemporary sources to verify accuracy and reliability. By providing inline citations, Perplexity enables users to verify information directly from the original sources.

What is Internal Knowledge Search for Enterprise Pro users?
Internal Knowledge Search integrates an organization's internal files with Perplexity's search capabilities. Enterprise administrators can upload up to 500 files to an organization's repository, accessible to all users within the organization. This feature enhances collaboration by empowering teams to ask questions and get answers based on both web sources and internal documents.
How do I select sources for my search?
Click "Choose sources" in your search bar and select from:
Web: Uses only internet sources
Org Files: Uses only your organization's file repository
Web + Org Files: Uses both web and organization files
None: Responds without using external sources
What file types are supported for Internal Knowledge Search?
Perplexity supports Excel (XLSX), PowerPoint (PPTX), Word (DOCX), and CSV files. Each file can be up to 25 MB in size. While PNG and JPEG files aren't supported for Internal Knowledge Search, you can still attach them directly to your query by dragging and dropping them into the search bar.
Data Integrations and Partnerships:
Is FactSet and Crunchbase available in Pro version or only Enterprise Pro?
FactSet and Crunchbase integrations are available to Enterprise Pro users holders who also have a FactSet and Crunchbase subscription. It's not included in the standard Pro subscription.
What about other data providers like Capital IQ, Bloomberg, etc.?
Currently, Perplexity has announced partnerships with FactSet and Crunchbase.
How does the FactSet and Crunchbase integration work?
Enterprise Pro account holders with a FactSet or Crunchbase subscription can access that data directly through Perplexity. The FactSet's integration provides access to its M&A & transcript data and the Crunchbase integration provides access to firmographic & funding data.
Spaces and Collaboration:
Can you share Spaces with co-workers?
Yes, you can share Spaces with co-workers. For security purposes, only users within your organization can be invited to join a Space. Colleagues you invite to collaborate in a Space will be able to start new Threads or continue existing ones, utilizing the files and resources uploaded to that Space.
What are some best practices for writing instructions for each Space?
Spaces offer customization options including:
Uploading specific internal knowledge sets
Selecting from advanced AI models
Setting custom instructions for how Perplexity should construct its answers
Security and Privacy:
How is privacy managed for internal documents?
For organization files, all Enterprise Pro users within your organization can download and search the files uploaded by your admin. For files in Spaces, only the creator of the Space and invited collaborators can access and use the files uploaded to that Space.
What about security and confidentiality of uploaded data?
Files uploaded to an individual user's Spaces are not included in the overall organization's file repository. For security purposes, only users within your organization can be invited to join a Space.
