In this live workshop, we went through how to use Comet, Perplexity's agentic browser, for work.

Is Comet available for Enterprise users?

Yes. Comet is immediately available to Perplexity Enterprise customers, while others can join a waitlist for access.

Using Comet

What can Comet support with?

How does Comet help with browser tab management?

Comet can group and organize your tabs by request, helping manage dozens or even hundreds of tabs for power users.

How can I customize Comet?

You can personalize Comet by adding shortcuts through the “edit widgets” menu on a new tab or in Perplexity's search. You can then prompt your named shortcut with "/" in any Perplexity search bar.

Can I connect Comet to my CRM ?

If the CRM page is open as a tab, Comet can read it and generate emails based on the information it extracts from that page. There’s no need to build out custom integrations for basic reading or writing functionality.

How can you manage your email and calendar with Perplexity?

Comet can currently connect your Gmail and Gcal to read and write via prompting Perplexity in Comet. For example, you can ask Comet to find you important unread emails as well as reschedule your calendar invitations.

Robust Data Protection

How does Comet handle my enterprise data securely?

For Perplexity Enterprise users that connect their Enterprise accounts to Comet, the same Terms of Service apply whenever Comet is used to access Perplexity’s AI-powered answer engine: We do not train on Enterprise customer’s data. For extra peace of mind, you can easily customize automatic data deletion schedules: files attached to your threads are deleted after 7 days, and you can set threads to be deleted as soon as 1 day. (Note: Files in “My Files” or Spaces remain until you choose to delete them manually.)

Important: To ensure you receive these enterprise protections, always confirm you’re connecting your Enterprise account to your official enterprise profile. If connected to a personal or unapproved profile, your data may not enjoy the same privacy safeguards.

Do you use our proprietary data to train AI models?

Absolutely not. We maintain strict data separation and will never use your enterprise data for model training purposes.

How do you ensure third-party AI providers protect our data?

All our third-party AI partnerships include contractual guarantees that no data we send is retained by external providers, giving you complete peace of mind about data security.

Enterprise Controls

What visibility do administrators have into system usage?

Enterprise customers with at least 50+ seats can access comprehensive audit logs which can provide transparency into detailed logs of user activities (searches, file uploads, and downloads), IP tracking, and device metadata.

Can I see how my team is adopting Comet?

For Enterprise customers with at least 50+ seats, you will have access to an insights dashboard.

What privacy options are available?

Comet has an incognito mode that provides enhanced privacy by limiting data sharing with external AI services. Please note that Comet Assistant and Summarization does not work in incognito mode.

Can we customize data retention policies?

Yes! Enterprise admins with 50+ seats in their organization have full control over data retention periods for threads and html data. You can set retention on threads as little as 1-day.
