How does Perplexity work?
Perplexity uses advanced AI models to interpret your query, search the web or internal files, and summarize information into concise answers with citations for easy verification.
What is the difference between typing a question and uploading a file or image?
Typing a question allows Perplexity to search the web and provide tailored responses, while uploading a file or image enables document-based insights, such as summarizing content, analyzing code, or translating text within the file.
Can Perplexity analyze images, videos, or audio files?
Currently, Perplexity supports text-based queries, images, and document uploads. Video and audio analysis are not yet available.
How does Deep Research differ from Pro Search?
Deep Research goes beyond Pro Search by performing multi-step reasoning and analyzing more sources in-depth. It’s ideal for complex queries requiring detailed insights.
What apps can Perplexity connect to today?
On the Enterprise Pro plan, you can connect to Google Drive, SharePoint, One Drive, Box, and Dropbox.
Spaces and Collaboration
What are Perplexity Spaces used for?
Spaces allow users to organize Threads and collaborate with team members on specific projects or topics. Files uploaded to a Space can be used as sources for customized searches within that Space.
Can team members query files in a Space without direct access to the documents?
Perplexity preserves file access permissions across App Connectors. If a user does not have access to a particular file, Perplexity will not query the file in its response.
Can you limit the sharing of Spaces to not leave your organization?
Yes, admins can configure user settings and permissions in Settings > Permissions.
Privacy and Security:
How private is the data uploaded to Perplexity? Is it used for training AI models?
For Perplexity Enterprise Pro, uploaded data remains private by default and is not used for training AI models unless explicitly stated otherwise.
Can Enterprise admins monitor user activity within Perplexity?
Enterprise admins have controls to view usage metrics and manage user permissions within their organization.

These models power the natural language answers. Perplexity is committed to providing our users access to the best models available today. Perplexity Pro and Enterprise Pro users can access models like GPT-4 Omni, Claude 3.7 Sonnet, Sonar Large, Grok-2, and Gemini 2.0 Flash. These models power the natural language responses to your questions.
What happens if I trial the Enterprise subscription while on a Pro plan?
If you currently have Perplexity Pro and you upgrade to Enterprise through a trial, we will cancel your individual Perplexity Pro subscription.
Is Deep Research free to use?
Deep Research is limited to 3 queries per day on the free plan. On the Pro or Enterprise Pro plan, users are not limited to the number of Deep Research queries they can run.
