Computer in Microsoft Teams

Computer works directly inside Teams, so you can start tasks where communication is already happening. That makes it easier to move from a message or channel discussion into actual work without switching tools or losing context.

Using Computer in Teams is especially useful when a task starts in conversation and needs follow-through. It also makes collaboration easier, since people can keep the work in the same place, add context, and refine tasks together.

You can use Computer in Teams in two ways. Start a direct message with Perplexity Computer for solo work, or bring it into a shared channel when a task involves other people.

To get started, install Perplexity Computer from the Teams App Marketplace, or ask a Teams admin to install it for you. Then tag @PerplexityComputer in a channel or send it a direct message and describe what you want it to do in plain language.

If you are using it for the first time, Teams will ask you to sign in when you prompt @PerplexityComputer. Review the permissions, select Allow, and complete setup before continuing.

Use a shared channel for collaborative work. Open a channel, tag @PerplexityComputer, and enter a prompt. This is useful for team projects, shared tasks, visible workflows, and work where colleagues may want to add input.

Use a direct message for individual work. Start a DM with Perplexity Computer, describe the task, and send it just as you would message a colleague. This is a good option for individual projects, drafts, research, and work that does not need team input.

Computer can do more than answer questions in Teams. It can research, analyze, create, code, and automate across multi-step tasks without interrupting the flow of work. It can also connect with tools used every day, including systems like Salesforce, HubSpot, and Asana.

Teams can also use Computer to build familiarity with AI in a shared way. A dedicated channel for Computer tasks can give people a place to try prompts, collaborate on work, and see how Computer fits into day-to-day workflows.
